Audi unveils new A6 saloon

Audi has revealed its updated A6 Saloon, which joins the refreshed A6 Avant in the brand’s latest line-up. The new model will be sold alongside the all-electric A6 e-tron, marking a change in Audi’s model naming strategy.

Previously, internal combustion engine (ICE) models were given odd numbers, while electric vehicles (EVs) were assigned even ones. Now, both ICE and EV models may share the same numerical designation.

The A6 Avant is available to order now, with customer deliveries starting in June. The Saloon will go on sale in May, with first deliveries expected shortly after those of the Avant. The launch reinforces Audi’s dual-powertrain approach during its transition to full electrification.

The new Audi A6 is built on the PPC platform and is technically unrelated to the electric A6 e-tron. Petrol and diesel engines are available at launch, with plug-in hybrids to follow. The platform enhances both refinement and driving dynamics. Prices start at £50,560 for the A6 Saloon, featuring a 204PS 2.0-litre mild hybrid petrol engine. The 204PS TDI variant includes Quattro all-wheel drive and starts at £54,830.
CO₂ emissions begin at 160g/km (petrol) and 135g/km (diesel). Audi’s new ‘human centric’ interior includes up to three screens, improved passenger space and enhanced soundproofing.
