Kia EV4 price cut brings it closer to Volkswagen ID.3 territory

The Kia EV4 has become the first Kia model eligible for the Government’s full £3,750 Electric Car Grant, cutting the hatchback’s starting price to £30,995 and strengthening its position against rivals such as the Volkswagen ID.3, Renault Megane E-Tech and MG4.

The grant applies to Air and Motion versions of the EV4 after Kia provided additional sustainability evidence relating to the European-built battery used in the car.

For company car drivers, the revised pricing pushes the EV4 much closer to the centre of the family EV market, particularly given Kia’s strong reputation for technology, practicality and long warranties.

The EV4 Air with the larger 81.4kWh battery now starts from £33,245, while the new Motion trim costs £36,745 and adds features including a Harman Kardon sound system, heated rear seats, surround-view cameras and blind-spot monitoring.

Kia says some versions of the EV2 could also qualify for the full £3,750 grant later this year.
