Polestar outlines four model expansion including new Polestar 2

Polestar has confirmed plans to introduce four new or updated models by 2028, including a next generation Polestar 2 due in 2027.

The first arrival will be the Polestar 5 this summer. The four door GT is positioned against the Audi e-tron GT and Porsche Taycan, with prices from £89,500 and a range of up to 416 miles.

In Q4, a new version of the Polestar 4 will join the line up. Described as combining “the space of an estate and the versatility of an SUV”, it aims to broaden appeal among business users needing additional practicality.

The replacement for the Polestar 2 has been fast tracked and is expected to move away from its current Volvo derived platform. Michael Lohscheller, Polestar CEO, said: “Polestar 2 is the foundation of our brand, with over 190,000 cars sold and an enthusiastic community of customers. Bringing the next generation of this iconic car in record speed, by the start of next year, is very exciting. The car that we became known for will play a key role of our future success."

In 2028, the Polestar 7 will enter the compact SUV segment as the brand’s most affordable model and its first built in Europe.
