Kia has introduced a new entry-level version of its EV6, the Air Standard Range, priced at £39,235. This list price positions the car below the threshold for the 'premium vehicle tax', offering further savings in a lower insurance group.
The new model features a 63kWh battery, delivering a range of up to 265 miles (WLTP). Although it has a smaller battery than the existing 84kWh versions, it retains the EV6’s hallmark 800V charging system, enabling ultra-rapid charging from 10 to 80% in just 18 minutes using a 350kW DC charger.
A single electric motor produces 169PS, with 0-62mph in 8.7 seconds.
The car’s standard kit includes 19-inch alloys, LED headlamps, heated front seats and steering wheel, adaptive cruise control, keyless entry and dual 12.3-inch curved displays with navigation, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with Kia Connect services for seven years.
Inside, the cabin is trimmed in a mix of black cloth and synthetic leather.
The new EV6 variant offers a more affordable entry point into Kia’s electric line-up, without compromising on technology or charging performance.
Orders are now open, with first deliveries expected to reach customers before the end of May.
