New Skoda Epiq brings genuinely affordable EV motoring closer for fleets

Skoda has confirmed pricing for its all-new Epiq electric SUV, with the compact EV arriving this July priced from £24,950, making it the cheapest electric Skoda yet and one of the more realistic EV options for everyday drivers.

That matters because this isn’t trying to be a flashy six-figure tech showcase. The Epiq is aimed squarely at people who just want a practical, easy-to-live-with electric car that fits into normal life.

At just over four metres long, it’ll sit somewhere between a hatchback and a small SUV in feel, taking on cars like the Renault 4, Fiat Grande Panda and upcoming Volkswagen ID.2 range. For company car drivers, it’s essentially an electric alternative to cars like the Kamiq or Puma.

Two battery options will be offered:

  • Epiq 40: up to 190 miles of range from a 37kWh battery
  • Epiq 55: up to 272 miles from a larger 52kWh battery

Both support rapid charging from 10-80% in under 25 minutes.

Inside, Skoda is leaning heavily into practicality. There’s a surprisingly large 475-litre boot, physical usability-focused storage, and the usual “Simply Clever” touches like umbrella storage and charging cable compartments.

Higher trims add heated seats, wireless charging and a reversing camera, while the launch-spec First Edition gets larger wheels and unique styling details.

Crucially, Skoda says the Epiq reaches price parity with the petrol Kamiq. That’s a big shift for fleets and drivers who’ve previously seen EVs as noticeably more expensive upfront.
