Aviva cuts Minifleet excess to reward faster claims reporting

Aviva has introduced excess reductions of up to £200 for Minifleet customers, encouraging earlier claims notification and the use of approved repairers to reduce vehicle downtime.

Available on new and renewing policies placed through Aviva's Fast Trade broker platform, customers can receive a £100 excess reduction by reporting eligible incidents involving another vehicle by the end of the following calendar day. A further £100 reduction is available when repairs are completed through Aviva's approved repair network.

The insurer says vehicles repaired through its Solus network are returned to the road up to 50% faster than the commercial vehicle market average, delivering average claim savings of £1,100. Its wider approved network includes more than 670 repairers across the UK.

The move reflects a growing industry focus on claims performance rather than premium alone. FleetWise recently reported that claims service has overtaken price as the leading factor when fleets choose an insurance provider, as operators prioritise operational resilience and minimising vehicle downtime.

Aviva said the enhancement supports faster liability decisions while helping businesses return vehicles to service sooner.
