Lloyds Banking Group is bringing Black Horse, Lex Autolease and Tusker together under a new customer-facing brand, Lloyds Auto.
The move will create one identity spanning motor finance, vehicle leasing and salary sacrifice, with Lloyds saying the aim is to provide customers and partners with a simpler and more joined-up experience.
There are no immediate changes for existing customers. Current products, agreements, terms and services will continue as they do today while the transition takes place.
For fleet managers, the significance is the scale of the businesses being brought together.
Lex Autolease is a major fleet leasing provider, while Tusker has a significant position in salary sacrifice and Black Horse provides vehicle finance. Bringing those activities under one brand could eventually make it easier for businesses to access different funding and employee-mobility products through a more integrated platform.
Lloyds says the change will also allow it to concentrate future investment around shared propositions, technology platforms and support.
The specialist expertise behind the individual businesses is expected to continue, so fleets using Lex Autolease or Tusker do not need to alter existing arrangements.
The development is nevertheless worth watching because it could eventually lead to closer integration between fleet leasing, EV salary sacrifice, vehicle finance and the supporting digital services around them.
