Kia has confirmed UK pricing and specifications for the all-new EV5, a fully-electric family SUV that will sit alongside the Sportage in its line-up.
Forming part of Kia’s global ‘Plan S’ electrification roadmap, the EV5 joins the EV3, EV4, EV6 and EV9 in its fast-growing EV family, a range that recently earned Kia four honours at the Fleet News Awards.
Built on Kia’s dedicated E-GMP electric platform, the EV5 is powered by an 82.4kWh battery offering up to 329 miles of range. A 217PS motor delivers 0-62mph in 8.4 seconds and a 102mph top speed. Rapid charging from 10% to 80% takes 30 minutes on a 150kW charger, while 11kW AC charging is also supported.
Prices start at £39,295 for the entry-level Air trim, rising to £42,595 for the GT-Line and £47,095 for the flagship GT-Line S.
Standard features include LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, heated front seats, and Kia’s new connected car Navigation Cockpit with dual 12.3-inch screens. GT-Line models add 19-inch alloys, sportier styling and electric front seats, while the GT-Line S offers a sunroof, Harman Kardon audio, 360-degree camera system, ventilated seats and an optional heat pump.
Practicality is also strong, with 566 litres of boot space (1650 litres with seats folded) plus a 44-litre front compartment. Recycled and bio-based interior materials feature throughout, while energy efficiency is enhanced by Kia’s i-Pedal 3.0 one-pedal driving system and Smart Regeneration System Plus.
First deliveries are due later this year.
