BYD sold over 8700 cars in the UK last year, marking a 658% year-on-year increase, making it the country’s fastest-growing car brand.
The Chinese manufacturer launched the Atto 3 SUV in March 2023 and has since introduced four more models, with the Sealion 7 arriving soon.
Meanwhile, its retail network has expanded from 14 to 60 sites, with further growth planned in 2025.
According to the latest OEM Brand Tracker from 360 Media Group's FleetTrends research agency, 1 in 6 fleets plan to order models from BYD in 2025.
The Atto 3 remains its best-seller, while the Dolphin hatchback leads in the retail sector.
BYD’s brand recognition rose from 1% in 2023 to 31% in 2024, aided by its Euro 2024 sponsorship. It also operates over 2000 fully electric buses across major UK cities.
