Electric Jeep Compass joins EV grant scheme, dropping below £35,500

The all-electric Jeep Compass is the latest model to qualify for the Government's Electric Car Grant, knocking £1500 off its price.

The saving brings the entry Altitude trim down to £35,499 on the road, while the better-equipped First Edition now starts at £37,700.

With the Compass added, Jeep's other electric model, the Avenger, is also eligible for the £1500 grant, meaning the brand's full battery line-up now benefits from the incentive.

Built on Stellantis's purpose-designed STLA Medium platform, which can take petrol-hybrid, plug-in and fully electric drivetrains, the third-generation family SUV currently pairs the Full-Electric option with an e-Hybrid.

A plug-in hybrid and Jeep's first electric four-wheel-drive variant, the Compass 4xe, are due later this year.

The Compass Full-Electric offers up to 285 miles of range, with 213hp and 345Nm of torque. Its 11kW onboard charger and 100kW fast charge mean the car takes just 35 minutes to go from 20% to 80% charge.

Jeep UK managing director Kris Cholmondeley said grant eligibility makes the brand's adventurous lifestyle "more accessible than ever".
