Cupra Tavascan gains entry-level model, starts from £39,995

Cupra has expanded its all-electric Tavascan range with a new entry-level specification, cutting the starting price of the electric SUV to £39,995.

The new Origin trim brings the Tavascan line-up to five specifications – Origin, V1, V2, VZ and VZ Extreme – with three powertrains to choose from.

The new 58kWh battery produces around 190hp and is available on the Origin trim as well as the V1 and V2. It sits alongside the existing 77kWh battery options, which produce around 286hp and 340hp respectively.

Standard equipment on the Origin includes 19-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, a 10.25-inch digital cockpit and a 15-inch central infotainment screen.

Cupra has also added a range of technology features across the updated line-up. Mobile Device Key and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability are available from V1 trim up. Oddly, there's even Launch Control available; that's offered on the VZ and you can even opt for the Sennheiser Contrabass audio pack from the V2.

Away from the entry-level model, Cupra has also reduced the price of selected Tavascan variants by up to £1,600. The V1 with the 77kWh, 286PS powertrain is now priced at £45,750, while the VZ and VZ Extreme cost £54,930 and £59,830 respectively.

The changes give buyers more choice across the Tavascan range, with the new 58kWh model providing a lower-cost entry point for a competitive, well-equipped electric family SUV.

For fleet operators, the revised line-up also brings a wider range of price and specification points to consider when assessing the Tavascan alongside other electric SUVs. This includes its sibling cars that sit on the shared platform, including the Ford Explorer and Volkswagen ID.4.
