Arval’s 30% EV milestone shows fleet electrification moving beyond pilots

Electric vehicles now account for more than 30% of Arval UK’s leased fleet, providing another benchmark for how quickly company-car electrification is scaling.

The leasing company had more than 63,000 EVs under management during 2025, up 16% year on year, while all of its own company-car orders were electric.

For fleet managers, the significance is less about Arval itself and more about what a portfolio of this scale says about the wider market.

EVs are increasingly moving from isolated trials into normal replacement policy across large company-car fleets.

Managers should therefore ask whether barriers within their own fleet remain genuinely operational, such as charging access or duty cycle, or whether they are based on outdated assumptions.

The growth of large leased EV populations should also continue improving servicing experience, charging support and supplier familiarity.

For fleets still treating EVs as an exception to standard policy, the market may already be moving faster than their internal processes.
