PayByPhone gives fleets live control of parking spend

PayByPhone has launched Mission Control for Business, giving fleet operators real-time visibility of parking sessions rather than waiting for month-end expense reports.

The dashboard allows managers to monitor live driver activity, identify spending patterns by location or vehicle and highlight potential cost-saving opportunities while parking spend is still happening.

A new prepaid Wallet also allows businesses to load a shared balance that authorised drivers can draw from, removing the need for individual reimbursement and avoiding delays associated with conventional credit-account approvals.

For fleet managers, the benefit is simpler administration and better control over a cost that often sits outside core vehicle-management systems.

The immediate opportunity is to identify how much parking is still being handled through personal cards, paper receipts or expense claims.

Live visibility could make it easier to identify expensive locations, enforce policy and reduce reconciliation work.

The system also provides low-balance alerts, configurable thresholds and instant top-ups, and is being offered to corporate and public-sector fleets across the UK.

Parking may be a relatively small cost per transaction, but at fleet scale it is another area where better data can reduce administration and improve control.
