Vauxhall’s Electric Streets of Britain campaign has received requests for EV charge points on over 12,500 streets, highlighting demand from households without driveways.
A study of city fleets shows wide variation in EV adoption. Bristol leads with 44.5% of its fleet electric, followed by Liverpool (43.3%) and Leeds (27.8%), while TfL in London lags behind with just 3.2%.

Global EV and plug-in hybrid sales rose 15% year-on-year in August 2025, reaching 1.7 million units. Of these, 1.16 million were battery electric vehicles and 0.57 million were plug-in hybrids.
