Kia expands EV5 range with new AWD model and Storm trim

Kia has expanded its growing SUV line-up with a new all-wheel-drive version of the EV5 and a new Storm trim level available across both the EV5 and Sportage, giving fleet buyers greater choice across electric, hybrid and petrol powertrains.

The headline addition is the EV5 AWD, which pairs the existing 78kWh battery with a second electric motor to improve performance and capability. Acceleration falls from 8.4 to 7.4 seconds for the 0-62mph sprint, while towing capacity increases from 1,200kg to 1,800kg, broadening its appeal for drivers who regularly carry heavier loads or tow equipment.

Priced from £45,645, the EV5 AWD is available in GT-Line and GT-Line S specifications, with standard equipment including heated seats, wireless smartphone charging and advanced driver assistance technologies.

Alongside it, Kia has introduced a new mid-range Storm trim for both the EV5 and Sportage. Sitting between Air and GT-Line, Storm adds premium styling alongside features such as heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, powered tailgate, wireless phone charging and upgraded audio systems.

The EV5 Storm starts from £43,145, while the Sportage Storm is priced from £34,395 with petrol or hybrid power.

For fleets, the latest updates strengthen Kia's offering by combining greater specification choice with a broader range of powertrains, allowing businesses to better match vehicles to different driver and operational requirements.
