Škoda launches biggest-ever model with up to seven seats and 390 miles of range

Skoda has unveiled the new Peaq, its largest production vehicle to date and a flagship electric SUV aimed at families and company car drivers who need maximum space without stepping into premium-brand territory.

At almost 4.9 metres long, the Peaq sits above the Kodiaq and becomes Skoda's first dedicated seven-seat electric SUV. Buyers can choose between five and seven-seat layouts, with boot space ranging from 299 litres with all seven seats in use to more than 2,000 litres with the rear rows folded.

The UK line-up will be built around a 91kWh battery, offering up to 390 miles of WLTP range and charging speeds of up to 199kW. Skoda says a 10-80% charge can be completed in around 28 minutes.

Two powertrains will be available. The rear-wheel-drive Peaq 90 produces 282bhp, while the all-wheel-drive Peaq 90x increases output to 295bhp and adds extra traction for drivers covering higher mileages in mixed conditions.

Inside, the focus remains firmly on practicality. Features include a 13.6-inch touchscreen, wireless phone charging, a panoramic roof and numerous "Simply Clever" storage solutions, while higher-spec models add matrix LED headlights, a 360-degree camera and advanced parking technology.

Prices start from £51,980, significantly undercutting larger electric SUV rivals such as the Hyundai Ioniq 9. With strong range, genuine seven-seat practicality and competitive pricing, the Peaq could become one of the most important fleet-focused EV launches of 2026.
