Nissan lowers Leaf entry cost with new £28,849 model

Nissan has expanded the new Leaf range with a more affordable entry-level model, introducing a 52kWh battery version priced from £28,849 including the Government's Electric Car Grant.

The new variant lowers the cost of entry to Nissan's latest EV by £3,400 compared with the existing 75kWh model, giving fleets and company car drivers another option depending on budget and daily mileage requirements.

Despite the lower price, the new Leaf still offers up to 280 miles of WLTP range, making it well suited to many business users whose daily driving falls comfortably within that distance.

Available in Engage and Advance trims, the entry model comes with a strong standard specification. Engage includes dual 12.3-inch displays, a 360-degree camera, ProPilot Assist with Navigation Link, intelligent cruise control and an 11kW onboard charger. Advance adds dual 14.3-inch displays with Google built-in, a head-up display, heated seats and steering wheel, wireless phone charging, a heat pump and powered tailgate.

The larger 75kWh version remains available for drivers needing up to 387 miles of range, meaning the Leaf line-up now offers a clearer choice between lower acquisition cost and maximum driving range.

With production underway at Nissan's Sunderland plant, the first 52kWh models are expected to arrive in UK dealerships later this summer.
