Home charging accounts for nearly three quarters of fleet EV charging sessions

Almost three quarters of fleet EV charging sessions now take place at home, highlighting the growing importance of accurate reimbursement alongside public charging payments.

Data from Rightcharge shows that 73% of charging sessions happen at home, yet they account for just 43% of overall charging spend. By contrast, 57% of charging costs come from the public charging network despite representing only 27% of charging sessions, underlining the higher cost of charging away from home.

The figures reinforce the need for fleets to manage both public charging payments and home charging reimbursement as part of a single EV strategy.

Rightcharge has joined Visa's Ready for Fleet programme to help fleet operators automate home charging reimbursement, while Visa Fleet 2.0 supports payments across the public charging network.
