Omoda & Jaecoo steps up RAC partnership with dedicated repair support

Omoda & Jaecoo's UK operation has expanded its partnership with the RAC in a move designed to get drivers back on the road quickly after breakdowns.

The brands - owned by Chery - have launched a dedicated Vehicle Off Road (VOR) operation, with a specialist Omoda and Jaecoo team now based at the RAC’s headquarters in Walsall.

The new team will take on cases where a vehicle cannot be fixed at the roadside, managing everything from recovery, parts availability, repair progress and customer updates. Furthermore, the operation will even include a courtesy car when needed.

The RAC will also take a closer look at parts availability across the manufacturer's UK network, working to identify potential shortages and ensure genuine parts are available where required.

The expanded partnership also means more repairs can be carried out away from a main dealer. The RAC has been authorised to carry out selected warranty repairs and recall work on Jaecoos and Omodas, using its fleet of around 400 mobile mechanics.

For fleets, the RAC service could mean less disruption, with mobile repair bays able to operate from business premises. Eligible warranty and recall work can be carried out while vehicles are at the workplace, as well as reducing the need for separate trips to a retailer - which could save operation costs.

This latest move comes as the brands continue to grow in the UK market, with Chery, Jaecoo and Omoda looking to strengthen its aftersales support as their fast-selling models become more popular on British roads.
