Production spec Renault Trafic E-Tech revealed - arrives in the UK in 2027

The production variant of the Renault Trafic E-Tech has been revealed at the IAA Transpotation Show 2026. It aims to take on the light commercial vehicle segment and arrives in the UK by mid-2027.

The fourth-generation electric Trafic has been developed specifically as an EV. In similar vein to Volkswagen ID. Buzz and Kia PV series, the Trafic E-Tech uses a new ‘skateboard’ platform designed to maximise load space while keeping the vehicle compact and manoeuvrable. Renault even says it will offer a turning circle of just 10.3m, comparable with its Clio supermini. 

Two body lengths will be available with the Trafic E-Tech. The L1 measures 4.87m and offers up to 5.1m³ of load volume, while the longer L2 stretches to 5.27m and provides up to 5.8m³. Both models are 1.92m wide and reaches up to 1.90m in height.

The Trafic E-Tech will also introduce 800V fast-charging technology, with a claimed range of up to 279-miles (WLTP), making it ultra-competitive to the Kia PV7.

Inside, the Trafic features a more car-like, technology-focused cabin. It borrows retro elements from Renault's retro lineup of cars including the 4 and 5, while modelling those bits to work in a van cabin.

Additonally, the Trafic E-Tech won the 2027 International Van of the Year (IVOTY) award, representing a new benchmark in the light commercial vehicle industry. It beat EV van competitors, which include the Volkswagen Caddy Cargo and the compact group of Stellantis' ProOne vans. 

UK pricing hasn't been announced yet, but we can expect the Trafic E-Tech to start from around £30,000 - comparable to the entry-level ID. Buzz and Kia PV vans.
