Two new partnerships are aiming to remove some of the biggest barriers to fleet electrification by reducing home charging costs and simplifying driver reimbursement.
E.On Next has teamed up with Myenergi to expand access to its 8p per kWh Drive Smart tariff for drivers using compatible Zappi chargers. As well as the existing overnight rate between midnight and 6am, the service can now automatically schedule additional low-cost charging during the day when grid capacity allows.
During these periods, the discounted tariff applies to the entire household, not just the electric vehicle. E.On estimates this could save a driver covering 8,000 miles a year up to £435 compared with a standard variable tariff.
Meanwhile, fleet charging platform Paua has partnered with Easee to automate home charging reimbursement. By linking directly to connected home chargers, the system reimburses drivers based on their actual electricity tariff and business charging usage, while separating private and business mileage and providing approval workflows for fleet managers.
