Volvo has unveiled the facelift versions of its XC40, EX40 and EC40 models, which include subtle styling changes, upgraded infotainment and additional safety systems to bring them up to date.
It comes as the Volvo XC40 is currently ranking as the ninth best-selling car in 2026 to date, with 18,907 units registered up to August. It's been on sale since 2017 and the 40 series car have been some of Volvo's most popular models in recent times.
The refreshed cars features redesigned front ends, with the XC40 and EX40 receiving new LED lights and front and rear bumper revisions. The XC40 also gains new 18, 19 and 20-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

Inside, the biggest change is a new 11.2-inch infotainment display, which Volvo says is faster and more intuitive than before. The system incorporates Google Gemini, allowing drivers to use natural-language commands for things including journey planning, finding destinations and managing messages.
The cabin also gains an updated wireless phone charger, new upholstery and trim choices, and revised ambient lighting.
Safety has also been a significant upgrade. The new models feature additional radar, camera and ultrasonic sensors to provide drivers a clearer view of their surroundings.

New and enhanced functions include Volvo's Door Opening Alert, which warns occupants about approaching cyclists and other road users, while the optional Pilot Assist gains lane-change assistance. An upgraded optional 360-degree camera now provides a 3D view to make parking and low-speed manoeuvring easier.
The EX40 and EC40 continue to offer all-electric powertrains, with up to 357-miles (WLTP) on a single charge.
UK pricing hasn't been announced yet, though order books for the updated models, including Black Edition variants, are now open in selected markets. Production itself is due to begin later this autumn.
