Success Story: what fleets can learn from Greencore’s 191-van transformation

Greencore is nearing completion of a 191-vehicle urban delivery-van renewal programme, providing a useful example of how large fleet changes can be managed across multiple sites.

The programme includes multi-temperature and single-temperature Mercedes-Benz Sprinters, supplied through Petit Forestier, with Webfleet technology supporting the wider fleet operation.

Vehicle features include lightweight bodies to protect payload, automatic load lighting, central locking and equipment designed around everyday driver use.

For fleet managers, the important point is that successful renewal programmes involve much more than choosing vehicles.

Vehicle specification, telematics, driver needs, branding, suppliers and individual operating sites all need to work together.

Greencore is also already planning its next replacement programme for 2027, reinforcing another useful lesson: fleet replacement should be a continuous process rather than something restarted at the end of each cycle.
