Zeekr targets premium fleets with new 9X luxury SUV

Chinese premium brand Zeekr has expanded its European line-up with the launch of the new 9X, a luxury SUV that combines long electric range with rapid charging and high performance.

Although the company has yet to confirm UK launch plans, the model offers an indication of the technology Chinese manufacturers are bringing to the premium market.

The 9X is Zeekr's first Super Hybrid, pairing a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with twin electric motors and a 55kWh battery. The powertrain produces up to 897bhp, while offering a claimed 111 miles of electric-only driving. The battery can also be charged from empty in 9.5 minutes using a compatible DC fast charger.

Inside, the 9X features a 47-inch head-up display, a 16-inch dual-screen infotainment system and a 677-litre boot, expanding to 2,148 litres with the rear seats folded. A 2,000kg towing capacity also broadens its appeal.

For fleets, the 9X highlights the pace at which Chinese manufacturers are moving into the premium segment. While its performance is likely to appeal to a niche audience, the combination of substantial electric range, ultra-fast charging and luxury technology demonstrates how established premium brands are facing growing competition as fleet buyers gain more choice.
