All-electric Kia PV7 unveiled | 286-mile range and 1,200kg payload

Kia has unveiled its new PV7 electric van, which gives fleets a longer, more practical version of the PV5. It expands Kia's dedicated Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) range with Cargo and Passenger versions aimed at fleet, logistics and passenger transport operators. 

Built on Kia’s E-GMP.S 800V electric vehicle architecture, the PV7 will be available with 71.5kWh and 96.2kWh battery packs - the latter not being available with the PV5. 

The Long Range Cargo model is claimed to offer more than 286-miles of range (WLTP), with expected DC charging from 10 to 80% in under 30-minutes using a 350kW charger. The PV7 will initially be front-wheel drive (FWD), but all-wheel-drive (AWD) versions are planned for the future.

The PV7 Cargo will be available in two- and three-seat configurations. The Cargo Long offers up to 6.1m³ of load space, while the High Roof version increases this to 8.0m³. Payload capacity reaches 1,200kg, depending on configuration, with the Long model featuring a 5.5m loading height and capacity for up to three Euro pallets. 

The PV7 Passenger can accommodate up to nine occupants, with an 11-seat version planned for the South Korean market. It even comes with flexible seating, rear climate controls and removable seats to add versatility.

Kia is also placing emphasis on connected fleet services, with its Business Solutions Portal offering fleet management, charging and maintenance functions. Vehicle data, predictive diagnostics and up-time services are intended to help operators monitor vehicles and reduce downtime.

The PV7 will launch in Korea and Europe in the second half of 2027, with Kia planning a wider range of derivatives and conversion models. UK specification and pricing is yet to be confirmed.
