The all-new electric Nissan Micra will go on sale in September, priced from £22,995. It is expected to qualify for the Government’s plug-in car grant, reducing the price by £1500. The Micra will come with two battery options: 40kWh with a 198-mile range and 52kWh offering 260 miles. Performance varies from 122HP and 225Nm to 150PS and 245Nm. Both can charge from 15-80% in 30 minutes via 80kW and 100kW chargers. V2L technology is included, allowing use of 240v plug-in equipment.

Three trims will be available: Engage, Advance and Evolve. All models feature a 10.1-inch touchscreen, while higher trims include a digital instrument cluster and Google connectivity and services built-in. Safety features include ProPilot assist, emergency braking, lane keeping, blind spot warning and driver monitoring.
This Micra launch is part of Nissan’s wider European EV strategy, with a new Leaf, Juke, A-segment city car and Qashqai e-Power updates due by 2027.
The new Micra is closely related to the new Renault 5, but Nissan says its version has a 'timeless quality' and is not a 'fashion statement'. Ooof!
