AFP announces 'charger-sharing' app

The Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP) is preparing to launch an app that enables fleets to share their electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities with other businesses. Announced at the AFP’s annual conference, the platform is being developed by start-up Evata, and will be white-labelled for AFP members.

Users will be able to list unused charging infrastructure, which can then be booked by others. The idea emerged from the AFP’s shared charging committee, formed in early 2024. AFP chair Paul Hollick admitted initial scepticism but said, “It was the right thing to do.” No pricing details were revealed.
