A survey found 80% of drivers believe there are more traditional petrol stations than EV charge points, despite the UK having over 37,000 public charging locations compared to 8329 forecourts. There are 108,410 public EV connectors, with more being installed each month.
Many petrol and diesel drivers remain hesitant to switch, citing queues for charge points, long charging times and lack of home charging. Jack Cousens of the AA said: “While the network is expanding, clearer messaging is needed to reassure drivers.”
