Pearce Crossley, a field engineer at Dalkia UK (Facilities), has been crowned Lightfoot’s Fleet Driver of the Year, taking home a record £10,000 cash prize – the largest ever awarded by the company. Pearce, who works for the EDF Group-owned facilities management business, was left stunned by the win: “It’s amazing to win, and I was just in shock,” he said. “It took a bit of time to get used to driving with Lightfoot, especially in an automatic van, but once I got the hang of it, it was actually quite easy.”
To secure the top prize, Pearce had to maintain an Elite Driver score – 85% or higher – for at least 24 weeks. His consistent performance highlighted both skill and commitment to safer, more efficient driving.
The win marks a strong year for Dalkia UK, which has now installed Lightfoot’s in-cab coaching and telematics technology in nearly 300 vehicles. Since the implementation, the company has recorded notable reductions in fuel consumption and improvements in overall fleet risk. Pearce’s achievement is seen as a standout example of how telematics can enhance driver behaviour and reward excellence.
