Kia will launch its Professional Business Vans UK division when the new PV5 electric van goes on sale later this year. The PV5 is Kia’s first fully electric van, with its full range of models currently shown only in concept form. The first production version will be unveiled on 29 April at the CV Show.
At the event, Kia will outline its PBV business strategy for UK fleets and share further details on its new electric van line-up. The PBV division marks Kia’s entry into the commercial vehicle market, with dedicated van-focused dealerships. The silhouette preview suggests the production model closely resembles the PV5 concept first seen at the IAA Transportation Show in Hannover last year.
The PV5, built on a dedicated EV platform, will be available as a panel van, chassis cab, and passenger variant. Kia plans to expand with a larger PV7 and a compact PV1. Every Kia PBV will include a seven-year/100,000-mile warranty and integrated Geotab telematics.
Kia rates 14th out of 28 manufacturers for 'Brand Trust' in Fleet Trends research. Meanwhile, across all measures: Trust, Consideration and Loyalty, it ranks 13th. It will be interesting to see if its exemplary seven-year warranty can improve on these positions for its van offerings.
