Geely has confirmed pricing and early details for its next UK launch, the Starray EM-i Super Hybrid PHEV, with on the road prices starting from £29,990 when sales begin in February.
Positioned as a family sized SUV designed from the outset as a plug in hybrid, the Starray EM-i will be offered with two lithium iron phosphate battery options. The 18.4kWh pack delivers up to 51 miles of electric only range, while the larger 29.8kWh battery extends that figure to 84 miles on the WLTP cycle. For fleets, that opens the door to meaningful electric mileage at a price point rarely seen in the PHEV market.

Power comes from a 1.5 litre petrol engine paired with an electric motor, producing 193kW and 262Nm. The result is a 0 to 62mph time of eight seconds, with fuel consumption starting from 1.4L per 100km and CO2 emissions as low as 32g per km on the larger battery.
Fast charging is supported, with up to 60kW DC capability and sub 20 minute 30 to 80 percent charge times. All versions come with an eight year or 125,000 mile warranty covering both vehicle and battery.
Michael Yang, general manager of Geely Auto UK, said the Starray EM-i is aimed at drivers who want the benefits of electric driving but are not yet ready to go fully electric.
