Volkswagen finished 2025 as the UK’s number one manufacturer in true fleet channels, underlining its strength with business and public sector buyers. Data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders shows the brand delivered 64,127 true fleet vehicles last year, securing an 11.2 per cent market share.
True fleet registrations are widely seen as a barometer of corporate confidence and fleet demand, covering large corporate contracts, leasing company deliveries, public sector orders and small business purchases through retailer networks.
SUVs and hatchbacks continued to dominate demand, with the Tiguan leading fleet sales at 17,516 units, including Tiguan Allspace. The Golf followed with 12,043 registrations, while the T Roc and Polo also recorded solid volumes.
Electric vehicles played an increasingly important role. Volkswagen’s ID. range accounted for 29 per cent of true fleet deliveries, totalling 18,690 vehicles, with the ID.4 the most popular electric model at 4,934 units.
Simon Lynch, Head of Fleet Sales at Volkswagen UK, said the results reflect “the popularity of Volkswagen cars among business drivers” and highlighted growing appreciation of electric models for their tax advantages, comfort and long driving ranges, including “more than 400 miles in the case of the multi award winning ID.7 Tourer”.
