Warrantywise names UK's most-reliable superminis

Warrantywise has published its latest Reliability Index, revealing the most dependable used superminis in the UK. Topping the list are the Toyota Aygo and Suzuki Swift, each scoring 88.6 out of 100. The rankings are based on how often vehicles develop faults, their average age and mileage at repair, and the duration and cost of those repairs. To ensure fair comparisons, all superminis have been classified using Euro NCAP standards.

The Kia Picanto claims third place with 86.8, followed by the Citroën C1 (82.8) and Peugeot 108 (80.3). The Renault Clio and Ford KA share sixth spot with 79.0, while the Hyundai i10 comes in eighth at 78.4. The Dacia Sandero ranks ninth (77.8), and the Hyundai i20 and Mini Cooper are tied in tenth with 75.9.

Many of these models go nearly a decade without major issues. The Suzuki Swift and Ford KA, for example, average 8.7 and nine years before their first repair. Most faults are electrical (over 50%), while engine issues make up around 30%. Repair costs vary from £420 to more than £9,000, depending on model and problem type.
